THE PERFECT TEN TOP: BLOG TOUR

Today is my day on The Perfect Ten blog tour for Little Lizard King and I am so excited to introduce y’all to this awesome pattern! I have sewn quite a few knit tops in my time, and The Perfect Ten is definitely a must have pattern for anyone who sews for girls.
Daydream Believers Designs for Little Lizard King. The Perfect Ten Top Blog Tour. Beautiful handcrafted knit top with peter pan collar; timeless, stylish and oh so sweet!

The pattern is well written and easy to follow. Not only is the actual construction SO easy and SO fast, but the pattern is LOADED with options that will give you dozens of different looks.  With sizes ranging from 12m through size 14, and sleeve lengths for all seasons; this is sure to be a go to pattern!

My favorite thing about sewing for my kids is that it enables me to create unique pieces to perfectly suit their personal styles.  As soon as I spotted this fun rainbow-houndstooth knit, I knew I had to have it for Iyla.  I made her this chic-everyday top using the Perfect Ten Pattern; long sleeve version with hem band, peter pan collar and button tab embellishments.

For the blog tour, I decided to make an upcycled top.  My Dad is always encouraging me to create by giving me clothes to upcycle, soft wool sweaters to scrap, tops with cool buttons; it’s really sweet. This Lions tee was one of his own, and I knew when he gave it to me that I wanted to turn it into a top for Iyla.  Sweet girl LOVES her Papa, LOVES watching football, and LOVES cheering on the Lions!

I created this top by cutting the front and back bodice pieces from the pattern so that the front image stayed intact. I personalized the piece for Iyla by adding silver glitter trim to the neckline and pairing the tee with a fun striped knit for the 3/4 sleeves and crisp white knit for the trim. My girl adores this special top! I love patterns that are quick to sew and allow me to add my own flair. The Perfect Ten is exactly that!

THE ULTIMATE DIY BUNDLE. YOUR ULTIMATE RESOURCE LIBRARY

makers(source)

I believe that creating for those you love is good for your soul. That feeling of creating something of your own gives a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment that is pretty hard to match.

The great thing about crafting and DIY is that there’s so much to get involved in! No matter what your skill level is; EVERYONE can craft. Maybe you enjoy decorating, or creating gifts, sewing for your littles, dabbling in photography, cake decorating, furniture restoration; Pinterest reminds us every day that there is a huge world of DIY opportunities out there! If you’re like me, you want to try them all!

The only problem is inspiration-overload! I love to create, but often end up doing nothing because I just can’t decide which project to dive into. I get easily overwhelmed by the MANY ideas out there, not to mention it can get expensive quickly buying resources. I’m sure you can relate! The struggle is real, friends, ha!

So when I heard about The Ultimate DIY Bundle I KNEW that I HAD to tell y’all about it! It is AMAZING!
If you’re a longtime reader you know, I do not promote anything that I wouldn’t buy myself! Y’all this is a deal I scooped up instantly, and I know you’re going to want to do the same! Here’s the scoop…

WHAT IS IT? The Ultimate DIY Bundle is an instant go-to library for a whole range of carefully curated DIY and crafting eBooks and eCourses. There are projects that the whole family can get involved in – from pet photography and home decor to chalk pastels and sewing. This is an expansive collection of inspiring resources! When I first scrolled through the list of books that were included, I was blown.away!

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? Just $34.95! Y’all know I am a frugal mumma! This is a crazy deal! For $34.95 you get access to over $1200 in eBooks and eCourses! Unlike other bundles I’ve seen where you have to add items ala cart (and pay for each one) The Ultimate DIY Bundle is truly all inclusive!

WHAT  WILL I GET? You instantly gain access to a carefully curated library of 76 eBooks and eCourses from the world’s leading DIY, crafting, and photography bloggers. This is an awesome opportunity to grab the resources that are most helpful to you, at a really discounted price, with all sorts of perks!
{Click to check out the complete list of eBooks}  Did you see that list? Amazing, right?!

WHAT ABOUT THOSE PERKS?  The Ultimate DIY Bundle comes with 4 awesome bonuses, worth over $118.  That’s 3x the price of the bundle alone! The bonuses include…

A free $15 Store Credit PLUS 8×10 Art Print from Hope Ink ($43 Value)
a free online class from Craftsy (up to $60 Value)
free $15 store credit to Fawnsberg.com
a free sewing pattern PLUS a Premium Video Class from UpCraft Club ($19.99 Value).
{Click to read all about the bundle bonuses}

What sold me were the titles included in this bundle. Some of the patterns I already own (and love!) but there were a few titles in the bundle (Kristen Duke – Say NO to Auto and The Parisian Top by Andrea Pannell) that I’ve wanted to buy for a while. When I realized that for nearly the price of those two resources; I could purchase the bundle and receive 76 resources PLUS the bonuses, I was sold. Seriously, Awesome, right?

Here’s the thing…
You have to HURRY! The Ultimate DIY Bundle will only be on sale for 6 days – from 8am EST on Wednesday, January 21 until 11.59pm EST on Monday, January 26. Don’t delay!

RANDOM NOTES

Ask and you shall receive…
I love getting questions/comments from my readers! I am happy to help y’all with your sewing projects and I appreciate your input about what you’d like to see on the website. I’m working on a few blog posts to cover my most FAQ/requested projects, including…

:: Ideas/tutorials for (quick & easy) handmade baby gifts
(and)
:: Better pictures of the sweet “Mermaid CafĂ©” play area & the coffee bar that appear in the back of many of my photos. (I never realized I took so many photos in the dining room, lol, but I’ll give ya’ll the details!)

I will also put together more “Make This Look” features. I’m so happy you have enjoyed this concept! I have received a few GREAT outfit suggestions. Please, keep those pictures coming! If you spot a look you’d like to DIY, send me the link and your suggestion may be featured on Daydream Believers.

This week I’m sewing…
:: Summer dresses for my Style Ambassadors::
I’m playing around with a few new patterns this season and have selected a nice variety of full/twirly dresses as well as classic sundress styles. In true db style, I have put together a fabulous selection of fabrics!
Here’s a peek…

:: Addison Tops:: I’m so glad y’all like the first of my team-spirit-wear, Addison!
If you placed your order today (Monday 2.24) I will have your top ready to ship this week!
If you haven’t ordered yet, no problem! I’m happy to customize an Addison Top for your gal!

Other projects I’m working on for the blog…
:: Skirt tutorials! Six of ‘em in fact!
During the month of March I will share my how-to-tutorials for making six sweet skirts for Spring.
Skirt Week

:: I also have a great bubble shorts and tunic tutorial that I adore and will share with you as soon as I get all the feedback back from my testers. Did you know, I don’t share any clothing tutorials on db without making sure they are fully reviewed for ease of use and accuracy of sizing? Yep, it’s a process, lol.

:: Tomorrow, I’m sharing an EASY craft tutorial that you and your kids will enjoy!

:: I’m also going to *try* to include more personal, editorial style posts. These posts challenge me the most. Writing them comes naturally but I struggle with sharing my heart so publically. I write about my life almost daily; but I keep these posts to myself. On the few occasions that I have hit publish and shared them here, the honest feedback these posts generate is SO wonderful, that I am encouraged to share them more.

What do you think? What do you want to read about on Daydream Believers?
I love chatting with my clients/friends/readers! Please, keep sending me your questions/suggestions/comments; I read and appreciate each one! Well, maybe not the spam asking me about buying milk crates/pearls/stamps…those I just delete ha! But all of YOUR comments are appreciated! Have a great day y’all!
