Friendly Frankenstein Halloween Dinner

It's time for another FUN Halloween theme dinner! These ideas (see more HERE and HERE) are all my mom's creations. She is the ultimate DIY party planner and an incredibly generous Grandma; each week in October she creates an awesome Halloween-theme lunch for the kids. Her ideas are always clever and she truly puts these all together with ingredients and decorations she purchases locally (Meijer, Target, Homegoods) - I share them here and on instagram #gigisoutrageousoctoberlunches to hopefully inspire you to make a little extra magic with your family this season. Now, on to the lunch!

This week's theme was FREAKY FRANKIE FEAST
Featuring a Frankenstein guacamole served with blue corn chips. Entrees were chicken BLTs that the kids added monster faces on to using olives, cheese and tomatoes. Dessert was "Eyeball Pie" aka cheesecake topped with cherries and embellished with edible eyes.

Sew Americana Tour

I am delighted to be a part of the Sew Americana blog tour today.   If you are new to my blog, welcome! Daydream Believers, The Blog is where my love for life, fashion, and DIY come together. Inspired by the littlest dreamers, I strive to create a joyful childhood for my kids and hope to inspire you to do the same. I started blogging six years ago when I founded my company, Daydream Believers Designs. I believe that creating for those you love is good for your soul; I blog to share how I do it, so you can do it too!

Sew Americana Blog Tour Teaser from Daydream Believers

Our small town USA 4th of July kicks off with a festive parade and ends with fireworks; we keep it classic around here. My kids look forward to dressing up in their Red, White & Blues and cheering joyfully for the floats and marching bands. This year, in addition to their patriotic wear, I made my girls a sweet patriotic tote to collect all the candy that the kiddos pick up curbside at the parade.

This generously sized tote can easily carry their water bottles, sunnies, and the massive load of treats.

In the past I have neglected to bring a tote for the goodies and found myself with cup holders, pockets, and a stroller basket full of melty candy (boo!) But not this year, my friends! I used THIS easy tutorial and whipped up this bag during naptime. Gotta love a scrap busting project that is cute and practical too!
