christy’s legacy of hope fundraiser–tonight

Local MI fans – this one’s for you!
Here’s a peek at the modern baby blankets that I made for the annual Christy’s Legacy of Hope Texas Roadhouse Fundraiser.

The event takes place today (Monday 5/19) and tomorrow (Tuesday 5.20) at the Taylor Texas Roadhouse! CLoH has organized an awesome bake sale, a merch table, and a baby blanket sale that features some beautiful handmade baby blankets (including these two Daydream Believers originals!)

Christy's Legacy of Hope is a wonderful charity that works to improve the life of orphaned children around the world. Please, print out a flyer and head to the roadhouse! If you happen to see me and the crew having dinner, be sure to come say HI! xx

HELLO MONDAY

I’m joining the incredible Lisa Leonard in a weekly segment called Hello Monday.
Hello Monday is a post to greet the new week with an open heart and a fresh perspective.
Today is a new day, a new beginning–and there’s so much to be thankful for!

It was another COLD and snowy weekend here in Michigan – so we spent most of our time at home, watching the Olympics (GO TEAM USA!) and working on projects around the house. The girls spent hours creating handmade Valentines (they are SO sweet!) and I was able to spend some quality time with my sewing machine. I don’t know about you, but I tend to let the little projects pile up. So this weekend I set a goal for myself to clear out my basket of repairs/unfinished projects. It feels SO good to start the week with a clean slate and plenty of time for NEW projects!

PRESENT. MY ONE WORD MANTRA FOR 2014

2014.
A new year. I’m hoping it is filled with peace, surprises, love, laughter, energy, smiles, warmth & JOY.

image (5)

I have always been a planner. Naturally anxious, organizing calms me and brings me peace.
That changed in late 2012, when I became suddenly ill.  I had lost control of my carefully planned life and I didn’t have the energy or clarity to regain that control. I tried to appease my anxieties by spending 2013 embracing my dreamer-side. I didn’t stress about lists or deadlines. I told myself that I would be less anxious if I just let life happen. I tried to do less and just BE.
I’ll tell ya, the notion of just letting it be and going with the flow sounds fabulous; but it left me feeling lost.

I realize now, I don’t want to just let life happen. I want to live intentionally.

THANKS, 2013

2013, You were a great one!
Here’s a peek at our year, via my Instagram photos.

Cheers! xx

Spread a Little Love Recap

THANKS again  to everyone who sent in a nomination for Spread A Little Love!
Here’s a peek into the lovely packages we sent out -
spread the love campaign
Along with their custom outfits; each girl received some fun jewels & accessories

Each package was filled with pink, hearts, ribbons and frills :) Pure girly fun!

Speaking of pure girly fun, haha, SO my daughters LOVE that mumma makes clothes and sends them to girls all around the world! Whenever I’m sewing, they always ask a dozen questions about the little girl I’m sewing for – they want to know her name, how old she is, where we’re mailing the package too… it’s super sweet! They think each one of my clients are their friends and they will often color a special picture or write a little note for me to include and send to the little recipients of my clothes. :) Both of my girls were SO excited about Spread the Love! They told everyone they saw about our special surprise mission ;) I love that at such young ages they understand and enjoy spreading kindness. Anyways – they wanted to contribute to the Spread the Love packages, so I let them decorate the envelopes…

… oh yes, rainbows, unicorns, princesses, fairies… pure girly fun!

I hope all of the lucky little sweeties LOVED their special surprises! :)

Don’t ya just love making people smile? ;)

Spread a Little LOVE. Recap

Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU {from the bottom of my heart} for enthusiastically supporting the
Spread a Little LOVE event! The response to this campaign was AWESOME!

I am so excited to tell you that, ALL of the pieces were matched with a recipient! YEA!

I are so grateful to the many women who took the time to write and send in a nomination.
The response this event was everything I had hoped it would be! I really do have THE BEST fans and friends!

I plan to continue growing the Daydream Believer Project by organizing events like “Spread a Little LOVE” and supporting other fabulous charitable events going on in the blogosphere! ;) THANKS for all the support!

Speaking of support… last week, the Daydream Believer’s Facebook page hit (and passed!) 1,000 fans! Whoo!
I have a BIG surprise planned to celebrate! I think you’re going to LOVE it – everyone loves free clothes, right? ;)
Be sure to check in on Friday morning for all the details! :)

Let’s Spread A Little LOVE

Happy Monday my friends!
After a lot of reflection, I’ve decided to change things up a bit!
Don’t worry, it’s all good, I promise! ;)

Quite simply, I want to do more.
I want 2012 to be filled with more charity, more selflessness and more random acts of kindness.
I want to focus more on DOING and a little less on business.
The Daydream Believer Project is so important to me; I  know that God has given me the strength and abilities I need to perform awe-inspiring deeds – I look forward to working with YOU to change the world!

SO…
To kick off this beautiful new year – I’ve decided not to sell the “Birds of a Feather” Valentines Collection.
Instead – We’re all going to Spread A Little LOVE!

I have 10 pieces, one of each size starting at 6/12 months and going up to 7/8.
A few of the pieces are clearly "Valentines" - but the majority can be worn after v-day too!
I love 'em all – and I want to GIVE THEM to deserving girls!

Yep, I am giving them away.
Rather, WE are giving them away!
I want ya’ll to help me Spread A Little LOVE this season!

Seriously, what is better than putting a smile on someone’s face?
How AWESOME will it be to send a sweet little lady a *surprise* package of Daydream Believers loveliness?
I am SO EXCITED just thinking about it!

Here’s what I want you to do- Send me an email nominating someone to receive one of these packages!
Whose day would you like to brighten?
Who do you know that would LOVE to receive a special Valentines’ Day outfit?

In your email, please include the child’s full name, address, and size.
If you want to share why you selected them, that would be great too! :)
To be considered, you MUST include a full name, address & size! (US addresses only, please)
I will keep the nominations open until we have matched each piece with a recipient (or until February 1 – since I want to make sure the packages get to the lucky little ladies before Valentines day!)
Please email your nominations to daydreambelieverproject@gmail.com
UPDATE - Nominations are now closed. THANK YOU to everyone who sent in an email! I appreciate all of your support! We have matched each piece with a recipient and are no longer accepting nominations. The response to this campaign was AWESOME! I will do my best to respond to each and every email! THANK YOU!  Best, Michelle
